Toronto Chinese Christian Short Term Mission Training Centre: The aims of the centre are two folds: to encourage ad train devoted Christians to become effective gospel workers, and to mobilize local churches to spread the gospel. Our ministries consist of three main areas:
1. Short term mission training programs
Our training emphasizes both on biblical knowledge and on practicing evangelical skill in local area. The programs consist of one year/ two years, women (housewives, part-time job) and men (self-employed, part-time job or early retired), seniors, weekend, summer experience day/week camp and difference evangelical crusade.
2. Provide evangelical resources
We published Truth Monthly newspaper (“TRUTH”-Chinese version), which is mean to spread the gospel through literature work. We encourage Christians to use this publication for gospel preaching, and to distribute to non-Christians. To date we publish 22,000 copies of Truth Monthly each month. We distributed to local churches, stores, restaurants, families, neighbors, relatives, friends, and other provinces of Canada and countries. Besides this publication,we are planning to establish an Evangelical Resource Library and a Gospel Tools Department, and a reference library for specific topics in near future.
3. Outreach Ministries
The ministries include: Senior care centre, senior nursing home or building, organizes evangelical meetings and training seminars, short term mission trips to local or other countries,
The center is a nonprofit faith-governed Christian organization financially supported through free will offering from Christians and from churches.

II. Content of One/Two Years Short Term Mission Training
Biblical Equipping: Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Pentateuch, Four Gospels, Acts, Gospels in Old Testament, and Gospel in New Testament.
Devotion Equipping: Devotional Life, Workers Discipline, Counseling & Evangelism
Evangelical Equipping: Evangelical Training (1, 2, 3, 4), Practical Evangelism (1, 2, 3, 4), Case Study (1, 2, 3, 4), Tent Making & Evangelistic Strategy, Counseling & Follow-up, Personal Evangelism
Theological Equipping: Biblical Theology, Gospel Theology, Practical Bible Study
Apologetics Equipping: Practical Apologetic, Cults & Heresy, Comparative Religions
History Equipping: Church History
Language Equipping: English and Mandarin

III. Kinds of Training
A. Two Years or One year Short Term Mission Training
1. RECRUITMENT TARGET
The Short Term Mission Training Centre urges every Christian to devote one or two years of his/her life for preaching the gospel and be a soldier for Christ.
2. QUALIFICATION FOR APPLICATION
The applicants must be recommended by his/her church or gospel organization. If at all possible it should support the expenses. Also it should reach a decision with the Centre concerning placing the applicant in the church or organization to participate in gospel preaching.
a. The applicant must be eighteen or above;
b. Be of sound faith, clear about his/her salvation, be baptized for two years or above; and has read the whole Bible at least once.
c. Academically a secondary school graduate or equivalent;
d. Healthy body, psychologically and mentally sound;
e. An outgoing and open personality with initiative. Good personal grooming;
f. Willing to be enduring; love of souls, and not loving enjoyment and leisure;
g. Not necessary to feel called to life long full-time service but must clearly grasp the significance and value of two years full-time gospel preaching.
h. Willing to abide by the Centre’s regulations concerning the Short Term Mission.
3. APPLICATION PROCEDURES
(i) Written Application
The application if processing the above qualification please go to the Centre for application form. After completing it, he/she should send it along with the testimony of salvation and another of desire for Short Term Mission, plus the church’s recommendation and copy of academic report to the Director of the Centre.
(ii) Selection Interview
If accepted preliminarily, the Centre will arrange for an interview on. After processing by the Centre, the final selection will be made. A special letter of acceptance will be sent to notify the successful candidate to attend the course. The members must commit themselves to one/ two-years time have to sing a declaration acknowledging the Centre’s right to terminate the training for unsatisfactory conduct.
(iii) Reporting/ Application for Course Attendance
Every year the Centre recruits new members. The new term for one and two year program start in January and September. Application will be received four months to be start of the term. Telephone inquires are welcome.
B. Women/ Men Short Term Mission Training
1. Target Group: Suitable for young or middle-aged women (housewives, self-employed, part-time job) and men (self-employed, part-time job, early retired) are born again Christians and have been baptized.
2. Training: A term of three years. Applicants can choose January and September programs. Lessons held two days each week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 9:00am to 12:45pm.
C. Senior Short Term Mission Training
1. Target Group: Suitable for those aged 50 or above. Healthy body, can read Chinese or English. And born again and saved Christian who have been baptized.
2. Training: A term of two months (June & July). Applicants can choose two difference kinds of programs.
(i) Lesson held 4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday) from 10:00am to 12:45pm
(ii) Lesson held 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 10:00am to 3:30pm
D. Weekend Short Term Mission Training
1. Target Group: Suitable for Christians who work on the weekday or students are eligible on weekend.
2. Training: A term of three months. Applicants can choose January, April, and September programs. Lessons held in weekend from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
E. Short Term Mission Experience Camp(Week/ One Day)
1. Target Group: Suitable for believers from aged 16 or above.
2. Training: Every vacation held in June to July. Course conducted in one week (4 days: Tuesday to Friday, training in the morning, practicing in the afternoon; 1 day: Saturday 9:30am -3:30pm).
A. Providing Evangelical Tools
We have many evangelical tools, such as CD, DVD, evangelical booklets, gospel tracts, and follow-up letters, gospel books which is suitable to difference ages and groups. Our resources share with and come from various Short Term Mission Centre such as Hong Kong and Vancouver, BC. (A group of International Fellowship Short Term Mission Centre IFSTM). We are planning to establish an Evangelical Resource Library and a Gospel Tools Department, and a reference library for specific topics in near future.
B. Issuing Truth Monthly
We wish to spread the truth to the Canada Chinese through literature, therefore we started to issue the Truth Monthly newspaper in February, 2003. We encourage Christians to use this publication for gospel preaching, and to distribute to non-Christians. Today, we publish 22,000 copies of Truth Monthly each month. We distributed to local churches, stores, restaurants, families, neighbors, relatives, friends, and other provinces of Canada and other countries.
C. Providing Training
We will be according to the churches, fellowships, and cell groups’ invitation to arrange the dates to provide personal evangelical training and counseling & follow-up training, etc.
IV. Centre Fees
1 or 2 Years Short Term Mission Training: $140 (per semester- 4 months)
Women/ Men Short Term Mission Training $150 (per semester- 4 months)
Senior Short Term Mission Training: $120 (2 months)
Weekend Short Term Mission Training: $100(3 months)
Short Term Mission Experience Camp: $60 (1 week)/ $15 (1 day)
V. Centre Finances
The centre is a nonprofit faith-governed Christian organization. We do not charge any fees for such work as distributing Truth Monthly, open seminary, or training. But believers and fellowships or churches may support with freewill offering since our centre runs by faith.
